Beau is a 10 ½ year old black lab. In 1996, Beau belonged to Lonestar Assistance Dogs where Lori was volunteering to train service dogs. At that time, Beau was working with another trainer and showed signs of fear working in public around men. Lori was asked to bring Beau into her home with 3 men, her husband and two grown sons, for further training. The family fell in love with Beau and decided to ask Lonestar to let them keep him as part of their family. Lonestar agreed to let Lori keep Beau if she would continue working with him in Animal Assisted Therapy. |

Today, Beau loves public outings and has worked with Baylor Hospital in Dallas; Lake Point Hospital in Rowlett; Changelle Air Force, a non-profit organization that works with children; and as a Demo Dog for Texas Hearing and Service Dogs.
In November 2003, Beau was asked to appear in New York on the Late Show with David Letterman. Beau was unable to appear on the show at that time due to a tail injury. Beau, however, was again invited and appeared on the show in May of 2004.
